Different? You just don’t fit in with the crowd?
Rejoice! The crowd is usually wrong!
As a young man, I felt like the outsider. Never really accepted, never popular, not embraced by the crowd. It hurt. It’s hard to be alone. Many times I just wanted to be like everyone else, be part of the crowd. But Jesus is not in the crowd.
The crowd makes you feel good, it seems fun, easy, attractive. But, it is shallow, hollow, empty, dark. The crowd is the wide paved attractive path to destruction. It will lead you to slaughter every time.
Being the remnant, the few, is hard. The path is dirt and rocks, narrow, barely marked, and difficult. But this path leads to life, joy, peace, contentment! Why? Because God Himself is the guide along this path. His light shows the way. His presence comforts those who choose the narrow path.
It is OK to be alone, as long as we are alone with Jesus. He will fill the lonely heart, be your constant companion. He will never leave you, never hurt you. He will show you they way.
Choose to be alone, alone with Jesus. Follow his path even if you are the only one. There is not safety in numbers, there is safety in Jesus.
